SURFACE LEVELING
UNIFORM SURFACES FOR ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED PARTS
Additively manufactured parts typically have a characteristic surface structure after production.
Surface leveling is used to clean and prepare the surface and create a more uniform appearance. The process can be used as a finishing step or as preparation for subsequent post-processing.
PREPARATION FOR FURTHER FINISHING
Surface leveling can be an important step before additional surface treatments.
Depending on the component, material and desired result, it can be combined with processes such as:
- Tumbling
- Dyeing
- Chemical smoothing
- Infiltration
- Painting
This allows the surface treatment to be adapted to the requirements of the final component.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Surface leveling can be used for a wide range of additively manufactured polymer parts, including:
- Functional parts
- Housings and covers
- Technical components
- Small and series production parts
- Eyewear
- Design products
- Parts requiring subsequent finishing
YOU PRINT – WE FINISH.
Your parts do not have to be manufactured by CIPRES.
If you manufacture additively in-house or source your parts from another production partner, you can send them directly to CIPRES for surface treatment and further finishing.
IS SURFACE LEVELING SUITABLE FOR YOUR PART?
The appropriate surface treatment depends on the manufacturing process, material, component geometry and required result.
Tell us about your parts and the surface quality you want to achieve. We will help you select the appropriate finishing process.
