Polyamide 11

Rilsan® Invent Natural is a natural polyamide 11 fine powder made from 100% renewable source (castor seeds). Polyamide 11 is a thermoplastic polymer that demonstrates excellent chemical resistance, high UV resistance, low water re-uptake and high density.

The white, slightly translucent, additively manufactured components are characterized by high impact strength, elasticity and elongation at break. They do not splinter even under the highest mechanical stresses. Compared to PA12, they have a higher temperature resistance and have almost constant mechanical properties over a wide temperature range. The material PA 1101 is based on renewable raw materials (castor oil).

It has been specifically developed for 3D printing, with good control of particle size and thermal properties, providing a very good processability in LS machines.

Combined with its low refreshing factor (typically 50% of part cake), Rilsan® polyamide 11 is the material of choice to design and manufacture final production pmarts by additive manufacturing. You can find parts in today’s cars, trucks, planes and medical devices. Rilsan® polyamide 11 is now chosen by more and more companies for additive manufacturing projects thanks to its unparalleled mechanical strength and durability.

Key attribues:

  • Excellent powder bed fusion processing characteristics
  • Impact resistance
  • Excellent elasticity and ductility
  • Meets USP Class VI requirements
  • Matte finish
