OPTICAL BRIGHTENERS

BRIGHTER WHITE FOR SLS PARTS

Optical brighteners are well known from the textile industry, where they are used to make white fabrics appear brighter and more brilliant. The same principle can be applied to white SLS parts.

Untreated white SLS components typically have a slightly yellowish or natural off-white appearance. By using optical brighteners, this yellowish tone is visually reduced, giving the parts a brighter, cleaner and more brilliant white appearance.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Optical brighteners are fluorescent substances that absorb invisible UV light and emit visible light. This effect increases the perceived whiteness and helps compensate for the typical yellowish appearance of the material.

BRIGHTER WHITE FOR LONGER

 Optical brighteners do not prevent the material itself from aging or yellowing. Instead, they help compensate for the visible yellowing, allowing white parts to maintain a brighter white appearance for longer.
