SURFACE FINISHING

PROFESSIONAL FINISHING FOR ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED PARTS

Additive manufacturing does not have to end with the printing process.

Professional post-processing and surface finishing can improve the appearance, feel and surface characteristics of additively manufactured components.

CIPRES offers a range of finishing processes for both in-house manufactured and externally produced parts.

REQUEST FINISHING

FROM THE RAW PART TO THE FINISHED COMPONENT

Depending on the manufacturing process, material and application, additively manufactured parts can have different surface characteristics.

CIPRES combines various post-processing and finishing technologies to achieve the required surface quality and appearance.

The appropriate process or combination of processes is selected according to the component and its intended application.

OUR FINISHING PROCESSES

SURFACE EQUALIZATION

Surface equalization is used to clean and prepare additively manufactured parts and provides a more uniform surface.

It can also serve as preparation for subsequent finishing processes.

LEARN MORE

TUMBLING

Tumbling reduces the surface roughness of additively manufactured parts and creates a smoother, more uniform surface.

Depending on the component and desired result, the process can also be used as preparation for subsequent dyeing or finishing processes.

LEARN MORE

DYEING | e-coloring

Professional dyeing gives suitable additively manufactured polymer parts a uniform color appearance.

In addition to standard colors, CIPRES can develop individual color solutions for specific applications and customer requirements.

LEARN MORE

CHEMICAL SMOOTHING

Chemical smoothing can significantly reduce the surface roughness of suitable additively manufactured components.

The process creates a smoother and more homogeneous surface and can also modify specific surface characteristics.

LEARN MORE

INFILTRATION

Infiltration can be used to seal suitable additively manufactured components and modify specific surface properties.

The suitability of the process depends on the material, geometry and intended application.

LEARN MORE

UV PROTECTION

Additional UV treatment can help maintain the visual appearance of suitable components when exposed to UV radiation.

The appropriate treatment depends on the material and application.

LEARN MORE

OPTICAL BRIGHTENING

Optical brighteners can be used for suitable white components to counteract visible yellowing and improve their visual appearance.

LEARN MORE

PAINTING

Painting provides additional possibilities for individual colors and surface appearances.

Depending on the application, components can be finished according to specific visual requirements.

YOU PRINT – WE FINISH

Already manufacturing your parts in-house or sourcing them from another additive manufacturing service provider?

You can send your components directly to CIPRES for post-processing, coloring and finishing.

This means you can use CIPRES’ finishing expertise without having to source the additive manufacturing process from us.

REQUEST FINISHING

THE RIGHT PROCESS FOR YOUR PART

Not every finishing process is suitable for every material, manufacturing technology or component geometry.

Tell us how your parts are manufactured, which material you use and what surface result you want to achieve. We will help you select a suitable finishing process or process combination.
