Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a process to produce spacial structures through sintering out of a raw material in powder form. The part is built up layer by layer. Through the effect of the laser beams, it is possible to produce any three-dimensional undercut geometries, for example also workpieces which cannot be produced with conventional mechanical or casting technology.
Laser sintering makes a design-driven manufacturing process, so the design determines the manufacturing and not the other way round.
